Navidget for 3D interaction: Camera positioning and further uses
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents an extended version of Navidget. Navidget is a new interaction technique for camera positioning in 3D environments. This technique derives from the point-of-interest (POI) approaches where the endpoint of a trajectory is selected for smooth camera motions. Unlike the existing POI techniques, Navidget does not attempt to automatically estimate where and how the user wants to move. Instead, it provides good feedback and control for fast and easy interactive camera positioning. Navidget can also be useful for distant inspection when used with a preview window. This new 3D user interface is totally based on 2D inputs. As a result, it is appropriate for a wide variety of visualization systems, from small handheld devices to large interactive displays. A user study on TabletPC shows that the usability of Navidget is very good for both expert and novice users. This new technique is more appropriate than the conventional 3D viewer interfaces in numerous 3D camera positioning tasks. Apart from these tasks, the Navidget approach can be useful for further purposes such as collaborative work and animation. r 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper describes Deep Window, an implementation of a mobile window into a virtual world using a depth camera. Deep Window explores the use of 2.5D depth cameras to implement 3D interaction techniques. Users can move and orient a tablet to change their perspective of a 3D scene, showing that it is possible for a 3D interaction technique to be replicated with a depth camera. A user study comp...

Introduction: Substantive amount of work has been done in modeling and analyzing the scintillation camera system processes including positioning and image formation. The goal of this work is to develop a framework for analyzing performance of nonlinear positioning methods upon construction of a mathematical model of the system. In this study, the photodetector array counts are ...

متن کاملNeuro-fuzzy Stereo Camera Calibration Architectures Used in Interactions with Medical Volumes
Computer assisted diagnosis/surgery systems need improved solutions for visualization and interactions, as the virtual probe tools. This work presents such an interaction tool and its applications in medical imaging. The novelty is represented by the use of neuro-fuzzy systems in 3D virtual probe positioning; two such configurations are presented and compared to the crisp positioning system. We...
